Rev. Ellen Ely

In June of 2003, Rev. Ellen Ely moved to Burnet to serve as the pastor of the First United Methodist Church. A 1998 graduate of Perkins School of Theology at SMU, Rev. Ely originally hails from the small Texas coastal bend town of El Campo. She holds a business degree from the University of North Texas (1985) and, as a second career pastor, spent about eight years working in retail business and banking. Rev. Ely completed her studies at Perkins School of Theology with an internship at the First United Methodist Church of San Angelo, where she also served for two years as associate pastor. Prior to coming to Burnet, she was the pastor of Lakehills United Methodist Church for three years. She looks forward to meeting the members and friends of the First United Methodist Church in Burnet and is excited to be sharing in the ministry of Jesus Christ in Burnet and the Highland Lakes area.
